HOW DO I CREATE AN ACCOUNT ON YOUR WEBSITE?

Sign up for an account on our website using your email address. Check your inbox or spam folder for our welcome email to claim your account. Complete our online liability waiver. Once you create an account and sign our waiver, you may access our fitness and wellness services.


WHY DO I HAVE TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT ON YOUR WEBSITE?

We leverage technology to offer you an efficient and convenient enrollment system. Creating an account on our website enables you to complete our liability waiver; to buy and to schedule services; and to access critical information regarding your purchases. 


WHAT IS A PERSONAL CONSULTATION? WHY DOES BODY MECHANIX RECOMMEND ONE?

A personal consultation offers you the opportunity to meet privately with a personal trainer to communicate your fitness goals and to establish your starting point before commencing a personal training or small-group training program. We recommend this consultation so that we can make your goals our own and can strategize a safe and effective program that will empower you to achieve them.


WHAT IS JUMPSTART? 

JumpStart is an introductory evaluation that features a health history questionnaire, a postural and movement screen, a body composition analysis and a benchmark exercise assessment. JumpStart is complimentary for members and available for purchase to nonmembers. 


WHY IS JUMPSTART MANDATORY FOR MEMBERS?

JumpStart is mandatory before your first class as a Body Mechanix member to ensure your effective and safe participation. Personal training and small-group training programs also begin with JumpStart.

If you are visiting us via ClassPass, we strongly recommend that you enroll in JumpStart before enrolling in our classes. 


Membership & Billing

WHERE ARE YOUR PRICES LOCATED? 

After you select a location on our website, you can find our full price list in the menu for that location.


WHERE CAN I PURCHASE SERVICES? 

You can purchase all services online. You do not need to visit a location. Sign in to your account and follow the instructions to complete a transaction. 


MAY I DROP IN TO CLASSES?

Yes. You may purchase a drop-in pass online to participate in our classes. After you purchase your pass, sign up for the class online to reserve your spot. If you have purchased your pass through ClassPass, follow the instructions that you received to sign our online liability waiver before you arrive to class. If you do not sign the liability waiver, you may not participate in class.


WHY MAY I NOT REDEEM COUPONS DURING CHECKOUT ON YOUR WEBSITE?

Our system cannot validate third-party codes. We need to validate your coupon code with the company from which you bought it before you may use it. 


HOW CAN I REDEEM COUPONS PURCHASED VIA OTHER SITES?

Create an account on our website. Then, email a screenshot of the coupon to info@bmfit.com with your login name and location in the subject line. We will send a confirmation email to you once we validate your coupon. Your coupon will appear as credit on your account. Once you receive this confirmation, you may purchase services using the credit on your account.


HOW DO I KNOW WHETHER I PURCHASED A PASS OR A PLAN?

You will receive a notification email containing the details of your purchase after you complete the transaction. You also can find purchase details under Plans & Passes when you are signed in to your Body Mechanix account. 


WHEN DOES MY BILLING START?

Your billing begins on the day that you purchase your pass or plan. 


MAY I CHANGE THE MONTHLY BILLING DATE OF MY PLAN?  

If you would like to change the billing date of your plan, email info@bmfit.com with the details of your request. We will respond to your request as soon as possible.


HOW LONG ARE PASSES AND PLANS VALID FOR?

Passes and plans are valid for one month from the date of purchase.


MAY I PUT MY PLAN ON HOLD?

No, you may not put your plan on hold. 


MAY I CHANGE OR CANCEL MY PLAN?

If you are signed in to your Body Mechanix account, you can check your Signed Documents under the History section to read the Terms & Conditions of your agreement. If you meet the requirements, you can terminate your program at any time.

If you have a monthly plan, you may terminate your program online. If you have a 12-month plan, you may request to terminate your program by emailing info@bmfit.com.

Plans renew monthly. Your plan will expire at the end of your month and will not renew for the following month.

If you have purchased a 12-month plan at a special rate, you may choose to pay full price for the months that you have used or to continue to pay the special rate for the remaining months in your plan. You will lose special pricing should you decide to resume your program in the future.


Schedules & Classes

HOW DO CLASSES, SMALL-GROUP TRAINING AND PERSONAL TRAINING DIFFER?

Personal training is one-on-one programming. Small-group training is shared programming among up to three participants. Classes are group programming for up to 16 participants. 


WHAT CLASSES DOES BODY MECHANIX OFFER?

We offer three types of classes: Body Conditioning, Body Strength and Open Gym.


WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BODY CONDITIONING AND BODY STRENGTH CLASSES?

Body Conditioning aims to burn fat, to increase cardiovascular and muscular endurance and to stabilize joints. It offers high-intensity interval training featuring kettlebell swings, rope slams, medicine ball work and TRX training.

Body Strength aims to build strength, to increase muscular development and endurance and to burn fat. It offers intense exercises featuring kettlebells, Bulgarian bags and Olympic bars.


ARE THERE ANY PREREQUISITES FOR THE BODY CONDITIONING CLASS?

Yes. It is mandatory that you participate in our JumpStart program before taking your first class to ensure your safe and effective participation.


ARE THERE ANY PREREQUISITES FOR THE BODY STRENGTH CLASS?

Yes. It is mandatory that you participate in our JumpStart program before taking your first class to ensure your safe and effective participation. If you do not have experience with strength training, we also recommend that you attend Body Conditioning before attending Body Strength to familiarize yourself with the equipment and techniques. 


WHAT IS OPEN GYM?

Open Gym offers members a scheduled time to access professional trainers and equipment so that they can practice skills, can work toward personal goals, and can supplement their training and class schedule.

This is the only time that our gyms are available for personal workouts. Participants may work out independently or with other members. They may create their own workouts or complete the weekly workout designed by our trainers.

Space is limited. Open Gym requires online sign-up to reserve your spot in the class. 


HOW LONG ARE CLASSES, TRAINING SESSIONS AND WELLNESS TREATMENTS?

Most classes and training sessions last one hour. This includes a warmup, a workout and a cool-down. Wellness treatments range from 30 to 90 minutes.


HOW DO I SCHEDULE SERVICES?

Schedule JumpStart evaluations, classes, small-group training sessions and wellness treatments online using your Body Mechanix account. Schedule personal training sessions directly with your trainer. 


HOW DO I CHECK IN FOR CLASS?

You can check yourself in for class using the kiosks at our Embarcadero, Mission, Uptown and Castro Valley locations. Download our app to use the unique bar code in your account to sign in at a kiosk. The trainer leading the class also may sign you in at any of our locations.

Arrive early to check in to class. Self check-in kiosks are available only before the start of class. Trainers may not check you in after they submit the roster to our system at the start of class. 


WHAT IF I AM LATE TO MY CLASS, TRAINING SESSION OR WELLNESS TREATMENT? 

All classes begin with a warmup. To ensure your safe participation, you must complete the warmup in order to attend the class. If you are more than 10 minutes late to class, you will not be permitted to participate in the class because you will have missed the warmup.  

For training sessions and wellness appointments, contact your trainer or practitioner directly to notify them of your lateness and to determine whether it will be feasible to complete your training or treatment. 


WHAT IF I MISS OR NEED TO CANCEL MY JUMPSTART, CLASS, TRAINING SESSION OR WELLNESS TREATMENT?

If you need to cancel a service that you have scheduled, you must cancel it 24 hours in advance or you will forfeit it. Our 24-hour cancellation policy strives to keep you accountable, to empower trainers and wellness practitioners to successfully offer their services to you, and to maximize participation opportunities for all Body Mechanix community members.
